Through the Years is the only licensed child care organization on the Aspotogan Peninsula. Housed in its own facility designed especially for children with indoor and outdoor spaces that feel homey and inviting. We are just a walk through the woods from the Rails to Trails paths, Hubbards Barn, library and beaches.
Our History
In October 2002 Through the Years opened in the former Fox Point Elementary School building, owned by the Municipality of Chester. Over the course of the next eight years it expanded from 33 child care spaces to 49 spaces after renovating the downstairs rooms of the building. In 2009 Through the Years applied for and successfully obtained an Expansion Grant from the Department of Community Services to build its own building on land leased from the Municipality of Chester at 20 Pte. Richard Green Lane in Hubbards. In June 2010 this building opened and was licensed for 75 children. In August 2013, 15 more school age spaces were added. An additional 10 school age spaces were added in 2015, bringing our licensed capacity to 100. Through the Years Early Learning Centre is a nonprofit charitable organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of community members and parents who oversee the Centre programs and staff. Over the years our children, their families and visiting child care experts have commented on the high quality of our centre, especially its welcoming staff, highly inclusive environment and inviting and interactive outdoor play spaces.
